Prayer Request
This is a copy of a e-mail sent to a member of our church (this is a member of her family). I have asked for prayers on his behalf before, but they need it now more than ever.
Dear Friends,
It is with a heavy heart that I write to you all this evening. As you probably know, my brother Lane has had two bouts wuth testicular cancer, the first resulting in chemo treatments and the relapse resulting in abdominal surgery. Lane has been experiencing back pain the past several weeks, which caused the doctors to perform and MRI on Friday. The results today revealed that he has a 30 cm (1 foot) tumor in the same place in his abdomen from which the other one was removed in January (The prior tumor was 7 cm, so this one is over 4 times the size of the last one). Lane begins intensive chemotherapy tomorrow that was described to me a consisting of "lethal doses of chemo." This chemo treatment is supposed to be extremely painful and, because it is so potent, will probably necessitate a bone marrow transplant.
An additional factor is that Lane and his wife Paula are pregnant with a son. A few weeks ago, a sonogram showed an arachnoid cyst on the baby's brain. The doctors are performing regular sonograms in the event that the cyst continues to grow and delivering the baby early is the safest option. They will not know the effect of the cyst on the baby until birth, but the potential effects for the baby can include severe mental disability. Paula is due in early August.
I ask that you would lift Lane, Paula and their baby up in prayer. Please pray for the physical healing for Lane and the baby, spiritual and emotional strength for Lane and Paula, and that the chemo will be less painful than normal.

Abba Daddy, right now I ask a measure of healing like none other for this family. Father please heal Lane of his tumor or give him the strength needed to endure this round of chemo. Not only should Lane feel your presence but let those around him see work work in his life. I also ask for healing over their baby. Please make the child whole so that your power and majesty can be seen by those ministering to Paula. Holy Spirit please hold them close and let them know you are there every step of the way.

On another note, thanks for the long comment to my blog a couple of days ago after I arrived here in Abilene. I was talking with my sister, Laura, today, and she knows both of your parents, especially your dad.
Her three girls all went to AHS, with the youngest just graduating last May. They all took sciences in high school, of course, so probably had your dad as a teacher, although I'm not completely sure.
Hope your wife does well in her course over here at ACU this summer!

I want you to know that God works miricles still today and I pray in the name of Jesus that he work a mircle in your life and the life of your baby. I don't know if this will help you any but it did me. When I was in ICU and going through physical and occupational therapy I would say in my mind "I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength." Please brother strive to keep a positive attitude. It helps. I want you to know that when I was in ICU I surrender everything over to God: myself first; my family; ministry; finances and on and on. I felt better and understood that God was the one in control. Like one blogger put it a small faith can move mountains. Pray and praying scripture. Meditating on the word of God helps in the healing process because Gog knows our bodies and listens and not just listens but works in us if we completely trust Him. I want you to know I love you and your precious family. I am with you and for you if you need to talk. Melanie has my phone number. I would love to visit with you brother. You mean so much to so many people. I pray that your chemo treatments aren't as painful than the Dr.'s have said. May God take that pain completely away.

I have blocked all the spam that comes my way. I really enjoy it so much and it is so much fun as well.
Yes there are other blogs such as wordpress, typepad and my-space but I have found this one to be the most enjoyable. The community is such a blessing. I have been blessed by each and everyone of you who have stoppped by and plan on visiting all of your blogs as much as I can with time that I have. I hope everyone understands that my health is still bad. I had an ultra sound on monday and the test came back normal so I have no idea what is causing the pain in my side. I have a had a bad few weeks.
I have been in extreme pain and last night kept getting sick every twenty minutes. I am going to do all in my power to get rest tonight and tomorrow because I feel wiped out. I want to thank everyone who has been praying for me as well as Lane. I need your prayers right now. I had a chest x-ray earlier this week. I still haven't heard the results. The liver and gollbladder result came back okay. I am just wonder what is causing the extreme pain. I hope the chest-x ray will show something. I do hava pointment with the nureologist this week on 22nd of May. Thank you for all of your prayer. Everyone means so much to my family and I.
