Does you congregation use the talents that they have?

I have been in many different churches across the country and have found that many churches will neglect, forget, or overlook the talent that they have from within. In ministry I have experienced this. I have been in congregations that don't look at the gift and talents that the members have that can utilized and used. Why? Do we focus on spiritual gifts? Talents that Jesus has given? How can congregations encourage gifts? Should they? Will they? Does yours? How? How can we better encourage and use the gifts from within? I have even seen Churches waste money to ignore talents and gifts from within congregations? How would Jesus view this? How would Paul view this? What do you think? Share your thoughts.

I don't have a google account. I use hotmail and neve a blog. I cam across your blog and love it. I love all the questions. I think most churches do outsource for gifts and talents. I was a member of church that found outside teachers instead of asking those from within to teach. Sooo sad.

Are you speaking of "spiritual gifts" (which I thought have been done away with)? Or about the money, abilities, and other resources God has given each of us?

I have never blogged before but love your post. I am a Outlaw. Yep. Outlaw Preacher who has seen first and this and it makes me so sad. I have seen Churches hire people and totally neglect the talents from within. Sickening. Sad. Makes me sooo upset bro. I have tried so hard to get them to see the gifts but they constantly ignore. I am so ready to quit main steam churches and start my own where ministry from within is practiced and encouraged. I want to thank you brother. God bless you and your family. I LOVE. I mean LOVE your blog
