What is doctrine?

What is doctrine? What is sound doctrine? Does the Church as a whole focus to much or not enough on doctrine? What happens if churches stress or emphasize the wrong doctrine? Is doctrine another term for law? Is it different than law? How? Is doctrine important? Why or why not?

I think Chrisitans and Churches focus to much on the wrong doctrine or teaching. Many focus on what causes others to be "out" instead of focusing on the teachings or doctrines that bring healing, empower, include, help. We need to focus more on the doctrines of Jesus. That is what it is all about. Christ and Him crucified.

Doctrine means teaching. I do believe that sound doctrine is important. If we stray from the true or sound teaching of the Bible we are lost.

Let there be no further debate on doctrines, we were created by God to worship Him. And tru our worship, praises and prayers we will get closer to Jesus our Lord and Savior. Amen!

As has been said, doctrine means teaching or beliefs. Important? Look at 2 John 9-10.

Doctrine is very important! God wouldn't have given us His Word detailing salvation, discipleship, or loving others if it wasn't important. That being said what happens sometimes is the church will take standards and make them doctrine. This can be very damaging!
