Does God Hate Homosexuals?
You have Christians today who protest and preach against homosexuality in such an offensive way. Holding up signs that read God Hates Fags! Does He? The word fag is abusive and offensive. It is hate speech. Turn off. So why do so many Christians use the word fag or faggot? Does God hate homosexuals? What did Jesus say on the subject of homosexuality? Do you think it is interesting that he never addresses the subject at all? Why didn't he talk about homosexuality during his ministry if he new the Church and his followers would be focusing or addressing the topic? What is the attitude that we should have as Christians towards homosexuals? Do Christians view gossip, lying, the same as homosexuality? Is there big sins and little sins? Or is sin, sin in the eyes of God? Can you be a homosexual and be a Christian? Are their people who struggle with greed, gossip, lying, lust, or other sins and who are Christian? What is the difference?Is there a difference? Are people born homosexual? Is it a choice? If people are born homosexual that what does that say about God? How should the church treat homosexuals? How does your church treat homosexuals?

God loves everyone. Every soul is precious. John 3:16 tells us. Jesus commands us to love all people. That is a challenge for many who follow Jesus. It is easy to love someone that is like us but different than us, that is hard.
OK then;
I don't think you really want to know what I think about homosexuality, so then I will tell you what the Lord Jesus Christ the creator of heaven, earth and hell is thinking about homosexuality.
Because the Lord Jesus Christ has put His laws into your hearts, therefore every one of you knows exactly what is right and what is wrong so that you are without excuse.
In your hearts you know that homosexuality is not only an abomination to the Lord Jesus Christ but also to every decent person.
Because you are burning with your perverted sexual lust for other men, therefore you deprive any sexually decent woman of a husband.
Likewise all of you Sodomite women deprive any sexually decent man of a future wife.
Even that is not enough for you, so you openly and without shame defiling the sanctuary of God by getting your Sodomite Pastors to marry you, man to man and woman to woman in the sight of God and men.
Love is to tell you the truth, so that you might not suffer the wrath of God on you.
Be quick to repent and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ with all your hearts and be saved from the wrath of God which will come upon all the ungodly.
Pastors, Ministers, Bishops, Teachers, Elders, Popes and hypocrites, you point your finger to those Sodomites but forgetting that three of your fingers are pointing back at you.
You say that it is not right to commit adultery, to have a relationship with any other than your spouse.
But in your Churches you teach your proselytes that it is right to worship and have a relationship with three persons and that each one of those persons is a god.
And then you lie, and with a brazen face you say that all those three persons are one God.
Do you think that your spiritual adultery is a lesser sin then the sin of those Sodomites?
As you judge another so you will be judged. If God did not spare His only Son, do you think that He will spare you?
The Lord Jesus Christ is patient, kind and longsuffering, wishing that none would perish but that all would come to repentance.
So then repent, confess your sin (yes publicly), and turn to the Lord Jesus Christ with all of your heart, mind, soul and strength and worship Him only so that your sins against you may be blotted out.

Is there an attitude, approach, spirit that Christians should have towards homosexuals? If so, how should followers of Jesus and the church treat them? Paul again thanks for adding to the discussion. I always want my blog to be a safe place where all opinions and thoughts are discussed.
Kinney, I have family and friends who are homosexual. Sadly the attitude of so many Christians towards homosexuals is hateful. Methinks the self righteousness and pride (in their own lack of homosexual orientation) of many Christians is pretty sinful.

As a homosexual Christian I thank you for sharing. I have for a long time felt hated by most people who identify themselves with Jesus. I love Jesus. Worship regularly. Pray daily. I feel like if Christians understood that it isn't something that I chose they would be more caring, loving to me and others like myself. I have always known I was gay.

David, I tried to go along with mainstream Christian teaching wrt homosexuality but for me it was too incongruent with the teaching and ministry of Jesus. So I opened my eyes and ears and I'm beginning to view the issue very differently. I don't have answers but I have lots of questions. But I do know that hatred, vilification and self righteous mockery are not the way to treat LGBT people.
Paul that kind of attitude and approach to homosexuality is offensive and a shut off to those who Jesus desires to reach. We have to be caring, loving, and non-offensive in the world today.

btw being heterosexual does not make one "sexually decent". In my experience sexual immorality is rife amongst Christian heterosexuals. I think far more Christians are guilty of adultery than homosexual activity. And that includes those in paid ministry.
I think we should treat gays like we would anyone else.
I sometimes wonder if homosexuals feel the same way that lepers felt in the time of Christ.
Homosexuality; the spiritual side explained.
Homosexuality is a demon, devil or evil spirit.
A man is made up of spirit soul and body in the likeness of God.
A demon or evil spirit uses the body (flesh) and the soul of a man for its gratification and functions.
The soul of a man is the hearing, seeing, feeling, tasting, sensing, thinking and imagination.
Perhaps you have heard the term 'soul brothers', those are like-minded and like-feeling brothers.
Christians however are not soul brothers, but spiritual brothers, brothers in Christ.
Every demon or evil spirit has its own characteristics, habits and functions etc.
Homosexual demons behave, walk, talk and speak according to their kind.
Demons or evil spirits travel in the realm of the spirit till it finds an available person and body whose resistance is broken down to accept it.
Once that demon has entered a man, it gradually starts to utilize and takes control of the soul in that man to satisfy its demonic functions.
I am not saying that that man is totally demon possessed.
A homosexual demon dominates and controls only the sexuality of that man or woman.
A homosexual demon is also a liar. When I or any other Christian addresses that demon within the person it occupies, then it says, "see! all those Christians hate you, you better separate yourself and find a homosexual church", and so the homosexual person goes from bad to worse.
How can I say that I love the Lord Jesus Christ and hate my brother who is created in the image of the Lord Jesus?

Paul, if God did not create men and women homosexual, why is there such a high suicide rate amongst homosexuals who cannot change their natures? Surely if it was a choice, they could choose to be heterosexual and avoid the heartache, pain, isoilation and hatred of the world? But so many are driven to suicide.. no wonder many reject the church and its teaching on the topic.
I want to be sensitive regarding this question. I know Christian people who are struggling with homosexuality, and everything is not black and white. Still, here's my understanding of it.
First of all, there's no question that love should be shown for all people. Hatefulness is never representative of a Christ-like spirit. That's obvious.
However, the other question is whether people are born with homosexual tendencies, and whether that justifies its practice or not.
This all depends on your view of the Fall and human nature. It is my belief that humans are born with a sinful nature (though not born guilty of it). This means that we are born selfish, lustful, greedy etc. And being a Christian means working against that nature all your life while you let God replace that with His nature. This takes time, and it's not easy.
I know of a particular friend who struggles with homosexuality, and he is convinced he was born with it. That may be true. He feels the temptation overwhelming. However, I might replace the same thing with some other desire. Some men are born with a sexual addiction to women. Some men find the temptation for heterosexual pornography just as overwhelming, regardless of if they are married or not.
Some people seem to be born with, or at least developed in childhood, with an extreme anger problem that they must fight their entire life. My wife works with sexualized children who were abused by their families. These children must fight extreme sexual temptation their entire lives, and the desires put into them by evil people is sometimes unbearable.
My point is that because something is overwhelmingly desirable to me, that does not make that desire good. In order to find out what desires are good and which are sinful, we must turn to the Scriptures.
I believe that any honest exploration of the Scriptures will find that sexual activity outside of a heterosexual marriage is sinful. It is so difficult, however, to explore the Scriptures unbiased because we live in such a sex-flooded time, as well as a time dominated by subjective truth.
I believe that any lifestyle is a choice, regardless of desire. I could choose to be celibate my entire life regardless of my sexual or romantic desires. This does not make this issue easy, but I believe it is the truth.
This is not a popular opinion, but I believe it is firmly based in Scripture. Homosexual activity is sinful. This does not make it worse than something else, nor does it warrant hostility against people who practice it. But I believe the Gospel can heal all things, including this. And I know of several people who have renounced a homosexual lifestyle in pursuit of Christ, and are much happier than they were before.

Yes Wendy; homosexuals do have a choice, but the seductive power of Satan is stronger then their choice.
They need to have the Spirit of God (the Spirit of Jesus) to indwell them and then they will have victory.
Satan is also a spirit and as it is with any spirit, you cannot see it till it has made its abode in flesh or in a person and then it's called a demon, when we can see its function and behavior we then can give it a name like 'homosexual demon or pedophile demon etc.'
Evil spirits can also enter animals. Jesus has demonstrated that when He called out the demons out of the demoniac and permit them to enter the herd of pigs and there are a lot more examples in the Scriptures.
God is also a Spirit (the Holy Spirit) (John 4:24) and neither could you see Him or know His Name till He made His abode in flesh Jesus Christ of Nazareth (veiled in flesh the incarnate deity).

You are looking in the right direction; perhaps I may add to your comment an explanation of the natures of men, the fall of men and the demonic entrance into human beings. I think that these things are important to understand so that we might have an insight into the spiritual realm of Gods creation and purpose.

I'm working on a comprehensive study of the bible... so far I've only broken down a few choice scriptures (that happen to be the ones utilized for this topic to support the Church's condemnation of homosexuals.)

God's love is for everyone. Not just straight people. We are told to follow Christ's example, to love all people. I do not believe the God of love I know wants us to spread the hate and condemnation that we (general we, meaning most Christians) do towards gay people. I don't believe they are going to hell just for being Gay... my study is far from over, so if you are interested in keeping up with it, follow my blog.
A grave mistake it to make one sinful act more sinful than another. And, Christians have done exactly that with homosexual acts.
That being said, the Bible never once speaks favorably of homosexual behavior. Just in the same way it never approves adultery, stealing, lying, and a host of other sins.
God is love...period. Yes he loves you. No, he does not approve anyone's sin.
It is true that God loves everyone i.e 'for god so loved the WORLD', however it is also true homosexuality is sin Romans 1v24-32, whether we like it or not. I do agree that many Christians today do have a bigoted hatred towards homosexuals. the hatred is in itself sin, for we are to display Christ in our lives and hatred for others is certainly not doing that.
God does not hate the PERSON who commits the act of homosexuality, however he does hate the ACT and does count it as a abomination.
I must completely disagree with those who claim to be Christian and gay, the Lord said if you love me keep my commandments John14v15. Practicing homosexuality is most certainly not keeping the Lords commandments, so therefore I must conclude that those who practice homosexuality do not love the Lord within their heart, even if they profess it with their lips. 'Search the scriptures for in them ye think ye have eternal life.' John 5v39.

I have battle with this and I have also try to take my life because I thought I was a failure. I have seek help though many channels, but may thoughts always return to homosexual tendnies. What I have come to relize is I must pray about this daily it's not easy but in privte pray things are somehow made easier. This it self does not take away my thoughts that I have though out the day. But praying about it does when I feel I am wandering I close my eyes and pray to Jesus for help. I can go on much more but I end here knowing God's love does help as it help me.

I'm a Christian and know the bible very well. But I know my God and Lord well too. God does not hate gay people. Anyone saying He does... that is a lie from the pit of hell.. and any Christian using the word 'fag' in a derogatory manner, or looking down on gay people...they are not Christians. The bible is very clear on homosexuality and what God thinks of it. But He sent His only son to die for not just me, but them as well. For all. That is clear. Our church has gays in it, and we love them immensely. Never condemning them. Just loving on them. Whether a person is hetero or homo... that is between them and God. Not me and them. Judge not lest ye be judged. There's only one Judge. Let the Holy Spirit speak to each of us as He does.. as God's will is shown. We are each in our own journey, own relationship with Him, and accountable to Him. We all make mistakes and think selfishly and act accordingly.. without a care about what our Father God wishes for us for our best. It is the relationship He wants with all of us, gay or not. What loving Father could not feel pain of separation from His children? I am a father, and know this separation. It is excruciating.
