I had never heard of churches NOT celebrating Easter till I met Church of Christ people online... Yes, we have a few Easter Services, on Thursday night, Good Friday morning and our usual Sunday services will focus on the Resurrection.

ReplyDeleteI'm CoC and, yes, our service will probably be focused specifically on the ressurection. I've worshipped with congregations on Easter where they were so extreme in not celebrating Easter that the sermon was a father's day sermon and had absolutely nothing in it that even touched on the ressurection except for the Lord's Supper which was after the sermon. If our congregation follows true to form, our sermon next week will focus on the ressurection or a small part of that time with a modern application. The songs will associated with the ressurection.

ReplyDeleteWe worship each week on the first day of the week in honor of the Lord's Day. And yes, we do make a special effort to focus specifically on the season this time of year.
