The Things That Really Matter

Do things that matter to us, matter to God? Do we consider some things to to be a big deal that may not be a big deal or issue to God? If so, what? Can we know the things that matter to God? How? Should the things that matter to God matter to us as well and how do we change the focus? Would the Church, Christianity and the world look different if we focused on the things that mattered to God? If so, how would they be different? What do you think?

  1. Preacher, that is a lot of questions. I think that the things that are mentioned over and over in the Bible must matter to God. We should definitely focus on those.

  2. I agree Preacherman. I think if we focused on the major theme's in the Bible then things would be a lot better in this world.

  3. You know Kinney this is something I ponder a lot. I know for sure that these two things matter to God: that I am becoming shaped to look more like His heart and that I am being kingdom in making my corner of the world a more redeemed place.

Much more than this, I am not sure anymore :)

  4. Love God and love your neighbor. Act justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with your God. The weightier matters are justice, mercy, and faithfulness. In everything do to others as you would have them do to you (Matthew 22:34-40; Micah 6:8; Matthew 23:23; Matthew 7:12).

God has stated what is priority. But if there is something he didn't mention at all, it must not be very important.

  5. I think everything would be different if we would only focus on what really matters. Jesus only had one commandment "To love". Stop worrying about who among us is the most "Churchy" and start looking out for each other, taking care of each other, and loving each other. Forget about what you heard, or someone's beliefs about something, because in the end no one knows for sure. And it doesn't even matter. We need to take care of each other and let God handle the rest. He doesn't need us. We need him.

  6. Maybe what matters to God is precisely what matters to us?
