I have been asked my many of my readers why I am stopping my blog. First, my heart right now isn't into it. Second, with Facebook, Twitter and other forms of multi-media I have seen the amount of readership drop significantly. Are blogs being read as much? If you are blogger have you seen a decrease? Why? Do you feel that my blog is beneficial> How has has it helped you and others? Responses my determine whether Preacherman returns.
Blogging does not resemble what it was when I began in 2004. I miss the community of bloggers that I had back then - we would all visit and comment at each others blogs. None of those friends blog or even read my blog posts any more.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you that FB has GREATLY impacted it. Even so, a few years ago I realized that I blog because I love to blog. My daily devotional blog helps start my day and gets me focusing on the Lord. The Kansas Bob blog and my fone fotos blog are just fun outlets for my creative side. And I really enjoy blogging with friends on the Daily Prayer blog.
So my suggestion Kinney is keep blogging if you really enjoy it. If you do, I suggest that you link to it from your FB wall so that others might feel free to participate there as well as here.

I like your blog and you have done a great job in bringing to light many important subjects, spiritual problems and questions pertaining to God, the Bible and the Church.
Yes! Many good brothers in Christ have stopped blogging, perhaps their blog turned into a Church culture where they allow only their point of view and any opposing comment they delete. In other words, If you agree with them they praise you and if you disagree they call you a heretic and remove you from their comment section.
I call them the 'holy huddle bloggers' who never will grow to a full maturity in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I like your blog because you have tolerated any opposing and controversial idea and comments even though sometimes it was against your own understanding.
Kinney, you have done great job, and keep on blogging, after all it is the command of our Lord to go and blog and keep on blogging in season and out of season, convenient and not convenient, on the highway and the byways, on the net or in the papers, TV or radio or the rooftops so that the glory of our wonderful Lord and savior Jesus Christ of Nazareth may be proclaimed.
Blogging is only a tool to preach the gospel of our Lord. To the lost it is for salvation, to the saved it is for encouragement and for pruning so that we will become more and more like Jesus.
Brother, in this evil and wicked world it is now us who hold the oracle of God in our mouth, therefore we must speak, or blog. :-)
