Life circumstances can affect your hope. When you go through great trials you have been taught to pray to God to help you but sometimes the help does not come. That can leave you feeling hopeless. We have to remember that what God promises is everlasting life not that he will correct life's ills. Even the death of a child is not God leaving you without hope, it is him promising to take care of your child until you get there with him. That is the hope he provides.
