Yes we should question doctrines of the Church. If not, how do we know what is right and what is false?

  2. Most Churches don't want you to question them on their doctrines in fear that they may be exposed and found to be false teachers and not submitting to the teaching of the Apostles doctrine and the Scriptures.
Every Church is known by their doctrines and their doctrines are the fence around them.

Jesus went to their Churches and told them the truth, but they gnashed their teeth and tried to murder Him (Luke 4:28-29).
He came to His own and His own received Him not (John 1:11).

A disciple of the Lord Jesus is not greater than his master. If they did to Him whatever they pleased, what will they do to you if you question them and tell them the truth?
The Lord Jesus always had problems with the so called "Churches" and their doctrines to this very day.

In their days they were called Pharisees, Sadducees and hypocrites just like they are called today and there was no difference between them. They all have their pet doctrines of lies and deceptions to keep the ignorant in bondage to their denomination (Church-organization).
If you dare to question them, they call you a "heretic" and burn you at the stake, or excommunicate you from their Church.

  3. Yes, it is important to know what they believe, because that is what they will be feeding (teaching) you! And whatever goes in, eventually comes out. ;)

  4. I am with the Bereans who responded to Paul's teaching by searching the scriptures for themselves to see if his teaching was right.

We are told there "will be" false teachers "among [us]".. "by their fruits you shall know them".

If we are not only permitted, but more over expected to question doctrine, then why tell us..

When I say "question" doctrine, I don't mean confuse it.. I mean, confirm it.. prove the teaching is in line with scripture, otherwise, have we done our job as Christians?

If we find it to be opposed to scripture and do nothing, we have lost the battle. Satan wins!

Scripture is full of teachings to convince us to be on our guard against apostasy.

"Study to show thyself approved....a workman who needs not to be ashamed...rightly handling the word of truth".

We can't do that if we swallow everything taught, and never challenge anything found to be false teachings..
