Good News Turned Bad

You turn on the news and all you hear 99% of the time is bad news. What would good news be? The Bible talks about good news, tells Christian to preach the good news to all the world. What is the good news? Is the gospel and the good news the same or different? Why do some Christians make good news bad news? Which is more motivating, inspiring, life changing, good news or bad? Why too often are Christians known for preaching bad news? Should Christians focus more on the good news? Why or why not? For those of my readers who are not Christians would you be more motivated to listen to good news or bad news? What is more inspiring? Do you think Christians should be known for being messangers of good news in a world that is filled with so much bad news? What can Christians, Ministers, Churches do to shift their focus?

What do you think?

  1. The good news or the gospel is a message of love, grace, forgiveness, hope. It is sad when Christians change the message or use fear to motivate.

  2. I appreciate your comment Becky. Do you think in which the gospel is presented? Do some use just fear? Other just love, grace, etc? Should it be combined and presented a certain way? Or is it just good news?

  3. The good news is that Jesus died, was barried and rose again on the third day. Doesn't get much better than that.

I think it is the way the message is presented to others. You can give hope or you can cause fear. Just depends on the messanger.

One can't fully appreciate grace unless convicted of his need for it. People don't like being told they are sinners but understanding that is essential. Then the good news is God loves sinners and Jesus died for sinners. Then it gets better from there as one comes to understand what his death and resurrection accomplished for us. Our sins are not held against is, we have a personal relationship with God and we have access to the power to overcome sin.
