In the world image is everything. So....Is it important the kind of image that Christians portray of Jesus? Why or why not? What kind of image have Christians given of Jesus to the world? Has it been good or bad? How? Does Jesus need new P.R.? What kind of P.R. have you been giving Jesus? What kind of P.R. does He need? Would He be pleased with the image we give the world of who He is and what He is about? Why or why not? What can Christians and the Church do to give the world a better image of who Jesus is and what He is about? If you could be a P.R. agent for Jesus what would you do?

Yes.Jesus does need new P.R. So many Christians give the world a negative view and picture of Jesus. Many represent to the world with slogans on T-shirts, creative book titles, trendy ministry programs. We have let Him down by the way we live. Our lives should show the world who Jesus is and we do that by how we treat his creation. How we treat the sick, poor, orphaned, hungry, hurting. We have failed and failed misserably. Christians sit and debate but fail to act. Missed doors.
ReplyDeletePersonally, I love sharing the Love of Jesus in all kinds of ways. They need to know that he loves them and that he wants to be their Savior. I pray that something I say or do helps draw people to Him. That is my goal always to help them either develop a closer relationshp with Christ if they are already a Christian or to help lead them to Christ if the are not already a Christian. Whatever I do I always want to point people to Christ.

ReplyDeleteYes, I agree 100% Jesus needs new PR. What religion and "Christianity" has created and done in his name is really sickening. Tommy, you said it best - how do we treat the sick, poor, orphaned, hungry, hurting - and that list goes on! How do we treat OTHER PEOPLE? Instead of sitting around arguing and debating over what is right or wrong, we need to be out spreading God's love. Instead of judging others and talking about what others are doing with their lives, we should be living & focusing on our own lives, and leading by example. If we want to live by God's standards, we need to love one another. That is what we are called to do. We are called to spread the love and compassion of Jesus Christ.

I think the way to give Jesus better P.R. or improved P.R. is like what Tommy and Sarah are saying. We change the way people see Jesus by the way we treat the poor, sick, hungry, hurting, outcasts. We preach: grace, love, hope. We don't judge. We forgive all men. We live radically.
