As Christians we have an eternal victory through the grace and love of Jesus Christ. Paul reminds us in Romans 8, that we are "more than conquerors through Him who loved us." Jesus tells us in the gospels that he had come to give us live and give it abundantly. Do we as believers believe this? Do we cherish each day as a gift or blessing from God? Do understand and live victorious lives? What keeps so many believers from living victoriously? What can help us live victoriously in Jesus Christ? What helps you? What message do we send to the world when we refuse to live victorious lives?

I agree, and good point, Kinney. I will say though that it's victorious in a way the world to this day is not going to realize or necessarily notice, at least in spaces. And even averse to our own sense as well. It's an overcoming out of death into life through Christ. Thankfully it involves God's gracious provision and working through Christ by the Spirit. But there are certainly times when it will feel like real death I believe, if we embrace it and seek to follow that way. Which is why it's so easy for us to avoid it, I suppose.

There seems to be two ways to living victoriously.
ReplyDeleteThe first way is, when you carefully practice to overcome all your sins, wrongdoings and shortcomings etc. according to the Scriptures and become as perfect as your Father who is in heaven.
The problem with that way is, that you will never be victorious enough and eventually lose heart and give up and walk away.
If you could obtain victorious living by your effort, then Christ Jesus would be of no benefit to you.
The second way is, to believe and have faith in Jesus Christ our Lord that He is our victory.
He has overcome and lived a victorious and perfect life and we are partakers and sharers of ALL His success and godliness in all things. By faith in Jesus alone, not one of us will fall short in living victoriously.
The world cannot understand and see that, because our lives are hidden in Christ Jesus our Lord.
