Are We Living In The Last Days?

I was wondering lately with all the sin and tolerance in the world if we aren't indeed living in the end times? If you look at 2 Timothy 3 Paul says, "But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastfrul, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, lovers of pleasure instead of lovers of God-having a form of godliness but denying it's power."

So, what do you think? Does this sound like the world today? Are we living in the last days? Jesus gives us signs in the gospels (see Matthew 24;Mark 13:24-31; Luke 21;25-33; Mark 13:32-37; Luke 21:34-38). So what do you think about this? What should we do? How should be live? If we are living in the last days should it affect the direction of the church and believers? How?

What do you think?

  1. According to II Timothy 3, we are living in the last days. OF course every generation has thought the same thing...the world has not changed much...and until they know Jesus (which is our responsibility) it will pretty much stay the same.

There sure seems to be many signs that indicate the last days are just down the road. I will prettt much not change many things in my life...I belong to Jesus and am a fruitful branch...So come quickly Lord Jesus...I have my bags packed and I am ready to leave.

  2. Many years ago a teacher was telling very young kids about the creation. She quoted Gen 1:1, "In the beginning God created...". A little girl inquired "What was before this?" The teacher replied "nothing". Then the child asked "Then why doesn't it say "In the VERY beginning..?"

The "last days" began over 2,000 years ago. Maybe we are in "the very last days"!

  3. I think we should live as if we are living in the last days. The Disciples did. After all we don't want to be like the maids who didn't have any oil for their lamps (or something like that?} In other words we need to be prepared. Right?

  4. Depends what your definition of "days" is Kinney :)

I am glad that the Father knows the day and the hour of the coming of the Son of Man.

  5. Those words are true of all times, all ages, before and after Christ. They weren't exactly very useful harbringers.

  6. Yes, the human kind is now living in laodicean church age and the people are lukewarm toward the present truth of God. We are contending for the Apostles' Faith which was once delievered to the saints of God, invite serious truth seekers to www.propheticrevelation.com

  7. What is the "laodicean church age"? I think that many used similar terminology to describe the church at different points in time.

I think that the admonitions to the churches in Revelation were not descriptive of an age but of the state of different churches then and now.

  9. Great comments and thoughts everyone.
    I greatly appreciate it.

I believe we may possibly be living in the "very last days". How long will God sit patiently before there is too much lust, pride, greed, hatred, sexual immorality, slander, lies, murder, lack of respect and disobeience to those in authorities (govenment, parents, elderly, etc) and on, and on...
I am just thankful that I have a choice to be faithful until he returns and that God has given me a second chance right now.
I am going to strive to live righteously. Cherishing God's love, mercy, grace and patience with me.
My prayer is that we as believers will live as if we are living in the "very last days" and strive to be God's Kingdom on earth that he so desires.
I will pray for every believer, every church, every non-believer that they will know the true and living God. Know him deeply. Serve Him passionatly, and glorify Him in every way until he returns.

    Again thanks for your comments.
I am sorry I don't comment or post as much as I have been. I don't have internet at home so I have to find the time and place where I can do so. So, thank you and God bless!

  10. I think there are many signs that strongly suggest we are living in the last days, particularly when those events are measured against what the Bible says about that. You can read a lot more about that at www.LearnBibleProphecy.com for a captivating, easy-to-read book the covers the topic.

    Many Blessings,
